About Sheri

Sheri Bilderback is an advocacy and strategic communications advisor grounded in public policy, with more than 35 years of experience advancing complex initiatives at the local, state and federal levels.

She is the CEO of Sheri Bilderback Consulting & Coaching (SBCC LLC), a firm established in 2012 that partners with businesses, associations and mission-driven organizations to design and execute disciplined communications and public policy strategies. Sheri brings a strategic mindset, deep regulatory understanding and extensive advocacy experience to every engagement.

Sheri maintains a proven track record as a trusted member of senior leadership teams, advising on communications, public policy and organizational strategy — often serving as the only woman at the table in complex, high-stakes negotiations.

She built from the ground up the government affairs and public relations function for a $4+ billion public-private electric power partnership serving eight states. She also supported communications for a coalition exploring a public-private investment partnership at St. Louis Lambert International Airport through the Federal Aviation Administration’s program, an effort that generated more than a dozen formal responses from internationally recognized industry leaders.

Sheri has represented and advocated on complex and highly scrutinized issues across industries including development, energy, telecommunications, infrastructure, education reform, tax reform, health care and economic development.

While subject-matter expertise is critical, Sheri’s strength lies in quickly deconstructing complex challenges, identifying risks and opportunities and designing strategic paths forward — regardless of the issue area.

Alongside her government affairs and advocacy work, Sheri brings extensive experience as a communications strategist. She partners with technical experts to translate complex information into clear, compelling messaging that resonates with policymakers, stakeholders and the public. Her work spans digital strategy, content development and traditional communications channels.

A disciplined coalition builder, Sheri brings diverse interests to the table, aligning stakeholders, addressing concerns and helping teams move toward durable, strategic solutions.

In addition to leading her consulting practice, Sheri has served as a government and public affairs department head, contract lobbyist in the Missouri Capitol, communications strategist and senior campaign professional — including roles as a U.S. presidential campaign field director (state headquarters) and U.S. Senate campaign director of operations and scheduler.

She has also served on numerous civic boards and commissions, including 30+ years on the City of Brentwood (Missouri) Planning and Zoning Commission.

Sheri earned her MBA from the University of Missouri–St. Louis and graduated magna cum laude from The American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government. She also served as a U.S. Senate intern for Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond of Missouri.

Sheri’s breadth of experience, intuitive judgment and ability to navigate high-pressure environments naturally expanded into professional coaching. As a Certified Coach, she works with leaders and high-capacity professionals seeking clarity, direction and grounded decision-making.

She also offers coaching in personal growth, transformation and self-defense, holding multiple certifications and serving as a continuing education instructor for St. Louis Community College.

This combination of public policy leadership, communications strategy and coaching perspective enables Sheri to operate effectively in complex, high-stakes environments — and to support organizations and leaders committed to meaningful impact.

Sheri calls St. Louis County, Missouri home, where she lives in a 1929 brick bungalow with her two white Persian cats — both full of personality. She’s a little bit city and a little bit country, equally comfortable in heels or boots. When she’s not working alongside consulting clients, she enjoys time at her family’s Missouri Century Farm, which has been in her family since 1902 (the farm is gorgeous as you can see pictured here).

Sheri loves both international and domestic travel and is always planning her next adventure (pictured here as a child, already seeking the next adventure). She appreciates simple pleasures: a medium-rare ribeye, a beautiful sunset and strong coffee.

For balance, you might find her practicing yoga, training in defensive shooting, playing piano or road-tripping to a rock concert (and yes, even meeting the band and ending up in the front row where Gene Simmons gave her a guitar pick!).

Sheri is deeply committed to service and especially passionate about empowering women. She serves as CEO and Lead Instructor of SBCC Women Shooters, focused on self-defense, confidence and skill development. She also appeared on the historic three-fold cover of TIME Magazine as part of a TIMES x JR Project installation.

A lifelong equestrian, Sheri has a particular love for thoroughbreds. She once met and sat on Secretariat during a private tour with his groom — an experience that has stayed with her for life. (Check out Sheri in the saddle!) She rides Hunt Seat (jumping horses!) and hopes one day to adopt an off-the-track thoroughbred. Her affection for horses began early - she’s also had an extensive Breyer Horse collection since she was a little girl
